Young Lions edge Warriors, DPMM fight back for point

Courts Young Lions came from behind to claim only their third win of the 2013 Great Eastern-YEO’s S.League season after beating Warriors FC 2-1 on Thursday evening.

It was the Warriors who opened the scoring after 18 minutes when midfielder Dharham Aziz found the back of the net, but Muhaymin Salim struck for the hosts just before halftime to send both sides into the break level.

And just like they did in the first half, the Young Lions managed to find the breakthrough right at the end of the second period, scoring through a Shamil Sharif effort to claim all three points.

Over at the Pasir Gudang Corporation Stadium, DPMM FC came from behind twice to earn a point with a 2-2 draw against Harimau Muda.

Following a goalless first half, the hosts drew first blood when Asyraf Talib broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, only for opposition skipper Rosmin Kamis to equalise two minutes after the hour mark.

Harimau Muda then looked to have won it when they edged ahead again in the 83rd minute thanks to a strike from substitute Akmal Ishak, but as the game entered injury-time, Brazilian playmaker Rodrigo Tosi netted his eighth goal of the campaign to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
