Zeyar Shwe Myay went top of the Myanmar National League on Saturday after claiming a 1-0 win over Magway at the Thuwunna Stadium.
It looked as though a draw was on the cards after both sides cancelled each other out for much of the game, but in the 90th minute, Ekoule Martin found the breakthrough to hand Zeyar Shwe Myay their second win of the new campaign.
The only other side to still have a 100% record after two rounds is Yadanarbon, who beat Ayeyawady United 1-0 at the Bogyoke Aung San Stadium thanks to Edison Fonseca’s 24th-minute penalty.
Rounding out the top four are Kanbawza and Yangon United, two sides expect to challenge for the title this year, after they played out a 1-1 draw at the KBZ Stadium.
Following a goalless first half, Tihomir Zivkovic fired the hosts in front on the hour mark, but Emerson Luiz Tito struck nine minutes later to earn Yangon a share of the spoils.
On Sunday, Manaw Myay claimed their first points of the campaign with a 2-0 win over Southern Myanmar at the Thuwunna Stadium; Ollo Kambou opening the scoring in the 24th minute before Molo Hilaire Assale netted nine minutes from time to secure the win.
Over at the Bogyoke Aung San Stadium, Chin United also got on the board with a 1-0 victory over bottom side GFA thanks to Wai Phyo’s 74th-minute winner.
Finally, Nay Pyi Taw rounded off the round’s action on Monday with by beating Zwekapin United 2-0, bouncing back from their opening round defeat against KBZ.
Michele Di Piedi grabbed his second goal in two games to fire Nay Pyi Taw in front in the 23rd minute, before Aung Kyaw Naing put the result beyond doubt when he doubled their tally 11 minutes from the end.
