Semen Padang climbed up to fifth place in the Western zone of the Indonesia Super League on Sunday after beating Persib Bandung 2-1 at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.
Argentine midfielder Esteban Gabriel Vizcarra fired the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, before they doubled their tally nine minutes after the break courtesy of an own-goal from former Indonesia international Supardi Nasri.
With a comfortable lead in their possession, Padang were more than happy to sit back and play out the remainder of the game.
Persib did manage to pull one back in the third minute of injury-time when Malian striker Djibril Coulibaly found the back of the net, but it proved to be little more than a mere consolation.
The result was Persib’s first defeat of the campaign following three wins and a draw, while Kabau Sirah are up to fifth after picking up their second victory.
