Defending champions Tampines Rovers maintained their perfect start to the 2014 S.League campaign on Sunday after claiming a 2-1 win at DPMM FC.
In an eagerly-anticipated encounter between the two early pacesetters, it was DPMM who drew first blood when Roberto Alviz netted after just eight minutes.
However, Serbian striker Miljan Mrdakovic continued his terrific scoring run – netting his eighth goal in seven games – to pull the Stags level in the 55th minute.
And with a minute left on the clock, Shahdan Sulaiman struck to complete the comeback and hand Tampines all three points.
The result, which also meant that DPMM’s own perfect start to the season came to an end, was enough to send Salim Moin’s charges three points clear at the top.
Over at the Pasir Gudang Corporation Stadium, Harimau Muda continue to be rooted to the foot of the table with no points after falling to a 3-0 defeat to Home United.
In his first game for his new club following an injury-interrupted start to the season, Fazrul Nawaz fired the Protectors ahead a minute before halftime, before benefitting from another Bruno Castanheira assist to double his and his side’s tally in the 55th minute.
Four minutes from time, Qiu Li scored for the second game running to wrap up the three points and hand Home their first victory in four matches.
