Maldives international Ali Ashfaq fired PDRM at the MPJK Stadium on the half-hour mark, before Bobby Gonzales doubled their lead just before halftime.
SPA’s afternoon worsened four minutes into the second half when Muzammer Zaki was shown a straight red, but they managed to pull one back in the 68th minute through a A. Puvanarajah strike.
However, Charles Souza Chad struck a minute later to restore the hosts’ two-goal lead, before adding another in the 83rd minute to put the result beyond doubt.
And as the game entered its closing stages, the Cops really made the most of their numerical advantage as they added further goals from Fadhil Hashim, Ashfaq and a Hafiszuan Salehuddin own-goal in the final five minutes to round off a commanding display.
Penang remain in second place behind PDRM following an impressive 4-1 win over Johor Darul Ta’zim II at the Bandaraya Stadium.

But five minutes into the second half, Lee Kil-hoon netted to put Penang back in front, before Shazuan Ashraf and Buengo struck in the 76th and 80th minute respectively to wrap up the three points for the Panthers.

Kedah snapped a two-game losing run at the UiTM Stadium after recording a 3-1 win over UiTM FC.
The visitors were initially left stunned as UiTM opened the scoring when Razren Jesni found the back of the net in the 23rd minute, but they pulled level nine minutes later when Khyril Muhymeen Zambri opened his account for the season.
Muhymeen then doubled his tally four minutes after halftime to put Kenari in front, and the points were secured 15 minutes from time when Shafizan Hashim added a third.
