Pasargad denied second win of UFL season

Bottom side Pasargad were unable to hold on to a winning position as they played out a 1-1 draw with Team Socceroo in the United Football League on Tuesday evening.

Entering the clash at the Emperador Stadium with just four points from their opening 14 games, it looked as though Pasargad were going to claim only their second victory of the campaign after Jerome Cuyos netted to put them in front after 18 minutes.

However, Socceroo had the perfect opportunity to pull level after being awarded a penalty on the hour mark, and Lee Jeong-woo made no mistake in firing home his ninth goal of the season to make it 1-1.

Pasargad were then dealt another blow when goalkeeper Aime Nsangou was sent off but their opponents were unable to make the most of the numerical superiority, and also finished the game with ten men after Park Yi-young was shown a straight red in injury-time.

The draw leaves Pasargad rooted to the bottom of the table, five points behind second-from-bottom Socceroo.
