Semen Padang are up to third in the Western zone of the Indonesia Super League after claiming a 2-1 win over Persijap Jepara on Saturday.
The Kabau Sirah broke the deadlock in the 19th minute when Hendra Bayauw netted his second goal of the campaign, before Esteban Gabriel Vizcarra made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark after converting from the spot.
Claudinho managed to pull one back for Persijap nine minutes later when he fired home from 12 yards, after his side had been awarded a penalty of their own.
But despite their best efforts, the hosts were unable to find an equaliser as Semen Padang held out to claim maximum points.
Saturday’s game was the first in the ISL following a one-month break, and action gets back underway on Sunday when Arema Cronus’ trip to Persib Bandung.
