Song Lam Nghe An climbed three spots up to seventh in the V.League 1 on Sunday following a 2-2 draw with struggling Dong Tam Long An.
The hosts took the lead at the Vinh Stadium in the 26th minute when opposition defender Phan Thanh Giang scored an own-goal, but Long An responded on the stroke of halftime through a Tran Hoai Nam strike.
SLNA then edged ahead again four minutes into the second half when Tran Phi Son grabbed his second goal of the campaign, but they were dealt a blow in injury-time after Pham Manh Hung was sent off for a second bookable offence.
And although there was not much time left remaining, the visitors managed to equalise as Thanh Giang made amends for his earlier error – netting in the 94th minute to earn his side a share of the spoils.
Still, the point was not enough to take Long An out of the bottom two, but Song Lam Nghe An managed to move up to seventh place on goal difference.
