Semen Padang go joint-top; Persija stay unbeaten

Semen Padang moved level with leaders Persib Bandung in the Western zone of the Indonesia Super League on Wednesday following a 2-1 win at Persik Kediri.

Kabau Sirah took the lead at the Brawijaya Stadium in the 29th minute thanks to a penalty from Esteban Gabriel Vizcarra, who then doubled his and his side’s tally five minutes from time.

Persik managed to pull one back in the third minute of injury-time from a strike from Dimas Galih Gumilang but it proved to be too little too late, as the visitors held on for the win.

Over at the Gelora Bumi Kartini, Persija Jakarta maintained their unbeaten start to 2014 with a 2-0 win over Persijap Jepara.

Agung Supriyanto fired Persija ahead in the 36th minute, before Ramdani Lestaluhu doubled their tally 11 minutes into the second half to wrap up the three points.
