Binh Duong close in on leaders; Long An finally win

Becamex Binh Duong moved three points behind V.League 1 leaders Thanh Hoa on Sunday after claiming a 2-1 win over Song Lam Nghe An at the Binh Duong Stadium.

The hosts took the lead six minutes before halftime thanks to Huynh Kesley Alves’ opener, but SLNA hit back in the 69th minute thanks to Vietnam international Le Cong Vinh’s third goal of the campaign.

But just when it looked like Binh Duong were going to be denied, Nguyen Tang Tuan popped up to score seven minutes from time to hand his side maximum points.

Over at the Long An Stadium, Dong Tam Long An recorded their first win of the campaign after a 3-1 triumph over Hung Vuong An Giang, who are the only remaining team yet to taste victory.

Phan Tan Tai fired Long An ahead in the 12th minute, before Phan Van Tai Em doubled their tally with a penalty six minutes later.

The result was then effectively ended two minutes before the half-hour mark when Van Tai Em scored his second of the game – and fourth of the season – although An Giang did manage a consolation through a Felix Ajala strike in the 86th minute.
