Semen Padang missed the chance to move into the top of the Indonesia Super League Western zone after being held to a 1-1 draw by Gresik United.
Entering the clash at the Haji Agus Salim Stadium knowing a win would be enough to see them overtake third-placed Persija Jakarta, the hosts found themselves behind five minutes before the half-hour mark when Kacung Khoirul fired Gresik ahead.
However, they were handed a real boost when the visitors had Otavio Dutra sent off in the 76th minute and duly equalised six minutes later when Airlangga Sutjipto found the back of the net.
Nonetheless, Semen Padang were just unable to take full advantage of their numerical advantage in the remainder of the match as their opponents held out for a share of the spoils.
Over in the Eastern zone, Perseru Serui ended a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over ten-man Persiram Raja Ampat at the Maguwoharjo Stadium.
Following a goalless first half, Persiram found themselves down to ten men when Steven Anderson Imbiri was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 78th minute.
Yet it looked as though the hosts had done enough for a point until the third minute of injury-time, when Yoksan Ama struck the hand Perseru a much-needed victory.
