Persela Lamongan missed the chance to go top in the Eastern zone of the Indonesia Super League on Monday after playing out a 2-2 draw with Putra Samarinda.
Persela got off to a dream start at the Surajaya Stadium as Addison fired them ahead after nine minutes, before the Brazilian added a second in the 24th minute to put them firmly on course for victory.
But three minutes later, the visitors pulled one back through a Lerby Eliandry effort and six minutes into the second half, Syrian defender Naser Al Sebai netted to earn them a share of the spoils.
The result leaves Persela third on the table and a point behind leaders Persipura Jayapura, while Putra Samarinda remain in ninth place.
Over in the Western zone, bottom side Persijap Jepara’s troubles continued as they were beaten 2-0 by Persita Tangerang, who climbed three spots up to seventh in the process.
Jalwandi opened the scoring at the Gelora Bumi Kartini in the 25th minute to send Persijap on their way, before Sirvi Arfani doubled their tally six minutes after the hour mark to effectively end the contest.
