Persebaya Surabaya moved one point behind Eastern zone leaders Persipura Jayapura on Tuesday with a convincing 4-0 win over PSM Makassar in the Indonesia Super League.
Persebaya edged ahead at the Gelora Bung Tomo in the 16th minute when Cameroonian striker Emmanuel Kenmogne claimed his tenth goal of the campaign, before Greg Nwokolo doubled their tally barely a minute later.
Abdul Rahman Lestaluhu then netted in the 74th minute to all but end the contest, and the rout was completed eight minutes from time when Kenmogne struck his second of the evening.
Over in the Western zone, Persib Bandung wasted the chance to move seven points behind leaders Arema Cronus as they were held to a 2-2 draw by local rivals Pelita Bandung Raya at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.
Persib had broken the deadlock three minutes after the half-hour mark thanks to Tantan’s opener, but Wildansyah netted in the 45th minute to send both teams into the break level on the scoreboard.
Pelita then edged ahead in the 70th minute when Kim Kurniawan opened his account for the season but just when it looked like they were going to claim all three points, Ferdinand Sinaga struck seven minutes before the end to earn Maung Bandung a share of the spoils.
