Semen Padang dropped points in their pursuit of Indonesia Super League Western zone leaders Arema Cronus on Wednesday after a 1-1 draw with Sriwijaya.
It initially looked as though things were going to be worse for Kabau Sirah at the Gelora Sriwijaya when the hosts took the lead in the 19th minute; Lancine Kone successfully converting from 12 yards after his side had been awarded a penalty.
But two minutes before halftime, Semen Padang defender Seftia Hadi popped up with the equaliser to earn his side a share of the spoils.
However, the result does little to help them as they remain five points behind Arema, who now have a game in hand.
Over in the Eastern zone, Putra Samarinda made it two wins in a row after beating bottom side Persiba Bantul 3-0 at the Segiri Stadium.
The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute when Joko Sasongko opened the scoring, before Rahel Radiansyah doubled their lead a minute after the hour mark.
Four minutes later, things went from bad to worse for Persiba as they were reduced to ten men after Stevie Bonsapia was sent off, and Sasongko went on to wrap up the three points in the 73rd minute when he scored his second of the evening.
With the victory, Putra Samarinda overtook Persiram Raja Ampat in sixth place due to their superior goal difference.
