Binh Duong down Ha Noi to move level at V.League summit

Becamex Binh Duong moved level on points with Ha Noi T&T at the top of the V.League 1 on Tuesday after claiming a 2-0 win over the leaders.

Following a goalless first half at the Go Dau Stadium, Nguyen Anh Duc fired the hosts ahead in the 66th minute before Nguyen Trong Hoang added a second to wrap up the three points in injury-time.

The win means both Ha Noi and Binh Duong currently have 35 points to their names, although the latter are second on goal difference and have played a game more.

Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa remain three points behind in third following a 1-0 triumph over Hai Phong at the Thanh Hoa Stadium.

It initially looked as though Thanh Hoa were going to be held by their struggling opponents but a minute from time, Le Van Tan popped up with the only goal of the game to win it for his side.

Finally, Dong Nai climbed two spots up to sixth on the table after beating Hoang Anh Gia Lai 4-2 at the Pleiku Stadium.

Although Nguyen Hai Anh had fired Dong Nai into a 15th-minute lead, the hosts equalised on the stroke of halftime courtesy of a Timothy Anjembe strike.

But the visitors reclaimed their advantage in the 70th minute when Ngo Duc Thang scored, before Thiago Junior added a third just four minutes later.

The contest was effectively over in the 84th minute when Luiz Henrique fired Dong Nai further in front, although HAGL did add some respectability to the scoreline when Anjembe netted his second two minutes from time to reduce the deficit.
