Pachanga Diliman got back to winning ways in the United Football League on Thursday after claiming a 3-1 win over outgoing champions Stallion FC at the Emperador Stadium.
Pachanga took the lead in the 27th minute when Gerardo Valmayor found the back of the net, only for Stallion to equalise five minutes later through a Fitch Arboleda strike.
But five minutes after the half-hour mark, they reclaimed the lead after Raffy Cabug opened his account for the club, and in injury-time, Philippines international Nate Burkey wrapped up the three points with his 11th goal of the campaign.
The defeat also means Stallion could still be pipped to a top-four finish by Green Archers United, who cruised to a 3-0 win over Philippine Army GTI in Thursday’s earlier game.
Robert Waly Lopez Mendy continued his impressive scoring form as he broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark, before doubling his and his side’s tally on the stroke of halftime.
And eight minutes from time, the Archers made sure of the result when David Angelo Diamante struck to cap off a commanding performance from his side.
