Home fall to second straight loss; Woodlands stun Warriors

Home United fell to a second straight defeat in the S.League on Friday evening after being beaten 3-0 by Balestier Khalsa at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The Tigers, who are looking to break into the top half of the table, got off to a dream start when Kim Min-ho fired them ahead after ten minutes, exchanging a one-two with Goran Ljubojevic before clinically firing past Shahril Jantan.

And nine minutes from time, Park Kang-jin capitalised on a rare error from Noh Rahman to make it 2-0; intercepting a slack pass from the Home captain before spotting Shahril Jantan off his line and sending a sublime 30-yard lob into the back of the net.

But the Tigers were not done yet and added another in the first minute of injury-time, Kim latching onto Park’s lovely over-the-top ball and playing an inch-perfect cross to the far post to leave Tajeli Salamat with a simple tap-in.

Over at the Woodlands Stadium, Salim Moin’s second reign in charge of Woodlands Wellington began with an impressive 1-0 win over title-chasing Warriors FC.

Following a goalless first half, the breakthrough arrived in the 72nd minute when Bah Mamadou scored with a header to hand the Rams a much-needed three points.
