Semen Padang wasted the chance to go joint-top in the Western zone of the Indonesia Super League on Thursday after a 0-0 draw with Persija Jakarta.
Kabau Sirah entered the clash at the Haji Agus Salim Stadium knowing victory would be enough to take them level on points with Arema Cronus, although the leaders have a far superior goal difference and would have had two games in hand.
However, Semen Padang were just unable to find a way past their opponents and neither could the visitors, leaving both sides to settle for a share of the spoils.
In Thursday’s earlier game, Persiram Raja Ampat moved four spots up to fifth place in the Eastern zone after cruising to a 3-0 win over bottom side Persiba Bantul.
Georges Parfait Mbida-Messi fired Persiram ahead at the Maguwoharjo Stadium in the 16th minute, before Engelbert Sani doubled their lead five minutes after the half-hour mark.
And with 11 minutes remaining, Leonard Tupamahu added a third to wrap up the three points for the visitors, condemning Persiba to their 15th defeat of the campaign in the process.
