Chiangrai, Osotspa share spoils in six-goal thriller

There was no separating Chiangrai United and Osotspa Saraburi in the Thai Premier League on Wednesday after both sides played out a 3-3 draw at the United Stadium.

It was Chiangrai who drew first blood in the 13th minute when Renan Marques nodded them into the lead; beating the offside trap before glancing the ball into the back of the net.

But the visitors equalised six minutes before the half-hour mark after Jetsada Puanakunmee met a  freekick with a deft header that crept into the bottom corner.

Osotspa then took the lead in the 52nd minute when Aron da Silva found space on the edge of the box, and expertly placed a left-footed shot beyond the despairing dive of Intharat Apinyakool.

Just a minute later, they found themselves further ahead after Teerasak Po-On flicked a visionary pass over the opposition defence to release Chananan Pombuppha, who made no mistake in planting his shot into the back of the net.

Nonetheless, the hosts were handed a lifeline in the 70th minute after Uilian Souza played a searching ball that was brilliantly brought down by Leandro Assumpcao, who proceeded to send a cheeky lob over a stranded Chatchai Budprom.

And in the second minute of injury-time, the Beetles went on to claim a share of the spoils when Kiatprawut Saiwaeo escaped the attentions of Shelton Martis at a corner and proceeded to head home the equaliser from close range.
