Arema Cronus remain unbeaten in Group A in the second phase of the Indonesia Super League after cruising to a 3-0 win over Persipura Jayapura on Sunday.
Samsul Arif continued his terrific run of form as he fired the hosts ahead at the Kanjuruhan Stadium from the penalty spot after 16 minutes, claiming his sixth goal in as many games in the process.
The Indonesia international then struck again on the hour mark to double his side’s tally, before Cristian Gonzales found the back of the net in the 90th minute to put the result beyond doubt.
The win keeps Arema top of the group by a point, while the Black Pearl remain in third place.
Over at the Haji Agus Salim Stadium, Semen Padang made it two wins in a row after recording a 4-2 victory over Persela Lamongan.
Although it was Persela who edged ahead courtesy of Addison’s 25th-minute opener, Rudi Doang fired the hosts level five minutes after the half-hour mark, before Nur Iskandar put them ahead six minutes into the second half.
Osas Saha then found the back of the net to put Padang further ahead in the 72nd minute, but Srdan Lopicic kept the visitors’ hopes alive when he reduced the deficit 11 minutes from time.
Nonetheless, just four minutes after, Osas was on target once more to wrap up the win for Kabau Sirah.
