Home United were unable to open their 2015 S.League campaign with a victory after being held to a 1-1 draw by Geylang International on Tuesday evening.
In a keenly-contested clash at the Bedok Stadium, Danish import Ken Ilso fired Home into the lead after 23 minutes with a fine individual effort, spinning cleverly on the edge of the box to create space for himself before blasting an unstoppable shot into the far corner.
However, the Eagles equalised a minute after the break when Bruno Castanheira’s flick-on header found Jozef Kaplan, who proceeded to smash a fierce half-volley past Shahril Jantan.
Both sides had their fair share of chances to snatch the three points but were just unable to find the breakthrough, and had to ultimately settle for a share of the spoils.
