Kaya moved on top of the United Football League on Tuesday evening after cruising to a 5-0 win over Team Socceroo at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Adam Reekie’s charges took the lead in the 20th minute when Ghanaian defender Alfred Osei opened the scoring, before Younousse Yaogo doubled their advantage a minute before the hour mark following an excellent assist from Miguel Tanton.
OJ Porteria then put the result beyond doubt by making it 3-0 but Kaya were not done yet and struck again through Diego Barrera five minutes later, before captain Aly Borromeo got in on the act by finding the back of the net in the third minute of injury-time.
The win, Kaya’s fifth of the campaign, takes them up to 15 points and – given their superior goal difference – takes them up to top spot ahead of Loyola Meralco Sparks and Stallion FC.
Meanwhile, Team Socceroo remain second from bottom on the table with just one point from their opening five outings.
