PSM Makassar kicked off their 2015 Indonesia Super League campaign with an emphatic win after beating Persiba Balikpapan 4-0 at the Andi Mattalatta Stadium on Monday.
It took Ponaryo Astaman just six minutes to open the scoring for the hosts, before Syamsul Chaeruddin doubled their lead a minute after the restart.
Johan Yoga then found the back of the net a minute after the hour mark to effectively put the result beyond doubt, but PSM were not finished and completed the rout with a fourth goal from substitute Muchlis Hadi in the 75th minute.
To make matters worse for Persiba, they finished the game with ten men after Valentino Telaubun was shown a straight red a minute from time, compounding a miserable day for the visitors.
PSM are next in action on Saturday when they entertain Sriwijaya, who opened their campaign on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against Pelita Bandung Raya.
